Leaving Shark Valley, we headed west and then north, retracing our steps up the Florida west coast.  We stayed overnight at the Belleair Beach Resort Motel, just south of Clearwater.
   
The Belleair is an old-fashioned motel beach resort, with its own pool and beach front.  Even though the rates were peak season, I felt like I got my money's worth at this place.  We might come here again.
   
It was nice to relax in the beach chairs, read a book, and look out over the Gulf.
   
It goes without saying the sunset views are spectacular.

Some of them are quite spectacular!
   
 
   
Some beach houses were obviously built before this area was "discovered" and the big money moved in.
